Grief and Loss Counselling

Grief and Loss Counselling in London, Ontario

Grief is the natural response to loss, and it rarely follows a schedule. It can come after the death of someone you love, and also after a divorce, a diagnosis, the loss of a job, a pet, or a version of life you expected to have.

Grief can look like

  • Waves of sadness, anger, guilt or numbness
  • Trouble sleeping, concentrating or eating
  • Feeling disconnected from other people
  • Being surprised by sudden, strong emotions
  • Feeling stuck long after others expect you to have moved on

How therapy can help

There is no right way to grieve. Counselling offers a steady place to talk about your loss, make sense of what you are feeling and find ways to carry it that fit your life. Our counsellors bring attachment-based, strengths-based, ACT and mindfulness-based approaches, and tools for coping when feelings are intense.

What sessions look like

Sessions are 50 minutes by secure video. You can talk about the person or the loss at your own pace, and you will not be hurried.

You do not have to carry this alone. A free consultation is a gentle place to start.

Frequently asked questions

Is it too soon, or too late, to start?

Neither. People come to grief counselling days or many years after a loss.

How do I know if my grief is “normal”?

Grief looks different for everyone. If it feels too heavy to carry alone, support can help.

Do you support grief that is not about a death?

Yes. Divorce, illness and other major losses are welcome here.
