Addiction and Substance Use Counselling

Addiction and Substance Use Counselling in London, Ontario

Addiction and substance use can affect your health, relationships, work and the way you feel about yourself. Whether you want to stop, cut back, or simply understand your relationship with alcohol, drugs or other habits, support is available without judgment.

You might be looking for support if

  • You feel that substance use is harder to control than it used to be
  • Use is affecting your relationships, work, health or finances
  • You use to cope with stress, trauma, anxiety or low mood
  • You have tried to change before and want a different approach
  • You are supporting a change you have already started

How therapy can help

Our social workers have worked in community mental health and addiction treatment. In sessions you can explore what substance use does for you, what it costs you, and what you want to change. Counselling draws on strengths-based, CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based and attachment-based approaches.

Where substance use and mental health overlap

Substance use often goes hand in hand with anxiety, depression or trauma. We work with the whole picture, not just the substance.

What sessions look like

Sessions are 50 minutes by secure video, with evening and weekend times. Your first meeting is a get-to-know-you conversation, and your counsellor will work with you on goals that fit your life.

You can start from where you are. A free consultation is a confidential, no-pressure conversation.
