Depression Counselling

Depression Counselling in London, Ontario

Depression can make everything feel heavier: getting up, getting through work, connecting with people, even enjoying things you used to love. It is not a weakness or a character flaw, and it is something people recover from with the right support.

Signs depression may be affecting you

  • Low mood, sadness or emptiness that lasts
  • Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Changes in sleep, appetite or energy
  • Trouble concentrating or making decisions
  • Feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
  • Pulling away from friends and family

How therapy can help

Counselling gives you space to be heard and to understand what is behind how you feel. Our counsellors use approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and strengths-based work to help you build routines, change unhelpful thought patterns and reconnect with what matters to you.

What sessions look like

Sessions are 50 minutes by secure video from home, which can make it easier to show up on hard days. Appointments are available evenings and weekends.

Reaching out is a good first step. Start with a free consultation, with no obligation to continue.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if it is depression or just a bad stretch?

Only a physician or other qualified clinician can diagnose, but you do not need a diagnosis to seek counselling. If it is affecting your life, it is reasonable to reach out.

Should I also see my doctor?

It can help. Medication decisions are made with a physician or nurse practitioner, and many people combine counselling with medical care.

What if I am having thoughts of suicide?

Please call or text 988 at any time, or call 911 in an emergency. Counselling can also help, but Connections Therapy is not a crisis service.
